In case you have not noticed, a lot of the jewelry in this generation is huge. There is a lot of jewelry that is actually huge and chunky and the rings are no different at all. ABS is one of the few jewelry brands that I actually keep up with and I can tell you this ABS snake ring is not only very in right now, but it is also awesome looking.

For one, the fact that it is black and has a huge chunk of a snake on it means that it is very in and very, very fashionable. The ring itself is actually made of resin and the snake is made up of tiny crystals.

Gucci is a brand that I not only trust, but it is a brand that I absolutely have fallen in love with. Not only is it a matter of status when it comes to Gucci, but it is a matter of perfection.

Channeling Empress Style with Wendy Brandes

The piece featured here is the Queen Min Ring. Queen Min was Korea’s last empress. She was assassinated over two hundred years ago, in 1895. There are no identified pictures of her, making her a rather elusive figure.

Katherine Jetter’s Poison Berry Ring

It is an absolute joy when you come across an innovative jewelry designer whom you have never before seen. It is like unexpectedly coming across a truly fantastic book in the rack at the grocery store. When you are walking along — or browsing along, as the case may be — unawares and suddenly come across a piece so beautiful it takes your breath away, well … that is truly something to remember.

Behold, then, the Poison Berry Ring, from Australian jewelry designer, Katherine Jetter. As you can see, this designer definitely loves opals, and she uses them with a discerning and innovative eye. Here, the petals are made of carved opal and they surround a rubellite center, the stone being 4.30 karat. Micropave diamonds of 2.80 carats and a tsavorite twist complete the gorgeous picture.

While the ring is a bit steep at $14,000, you get your money’s worth in the craftsmanship alone.

It goes without saying that we have all heard of cocktail rings. By and large, they are fun and funky, adding a great, flirty touch to an evening out. They are a colorful addition to a little black dress and make a great accent piece for more casual affairs. We all know Harry Winston — and to know Harry is to love Harry, as we have seen quite a few times in the past, both out and about and right here in this blog as well.

Why do we love Harry Winston? Well, the ring you can see here to the left is a prime example. We love Harry because the designs are classic, yet unquestionably innovative. Harry Winston can take something that should, by all rights, look too large and perhaps even a little bit gaudy, and instead do a complete turn around and make it look utterly exquisite instead.

I am not a huge fan of cocktail rings, and while this ring does not quite classify as cocktail, it almost could due to its size alone. And yet, the quality of the stone, the setting, and the layout of the diamonds all combine to make me wish I got paid more so I could purchase this right right now.
